88.1 the Park Presents My P-CCS Life
For more than 190 years, the strength of the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools has been the talented educators who have dedicated their lives to the education of the children who called P-CCS home.
88.1 The Park is proud to honor the work of these passionate professionals as we partner with the district’s Communications and Marketing Department to present a new interview series called ‘My P-CCS Life.’
The long-form interview program will feature in-depth conversations with educators – both legendary and loyal – whose contributions changed the face of the district and community they served. The programs will be hosted by a pair of district alumni: P-CCS Executive Director of Communications and Marketing Nick Brandon, and P-CCS Assistant Content and Station Manager John Kreger.
“P-CCS has been incredibly fortunate as a district to have so many outstanding educators as a part of both our history and our present,” Brandon said. “My P-CCS life will offer 88.1 The Park listeners a deeply personal look at what shaped the careers of these amazing individuals, shining a light on what drove their dedication to generations of students. I can’t wait to be a part of these conversations and share them with our district family.”
The series’ debut program on Friday, August 5, will feature a conversation with Dr. Jim Burt, whose 47-year career in the district saw him grow from the teaching ranks to become one of P-CCS’ most innovative and beloved building principals. That interview will be followed on Friday, September 9 by a discussion with Dr. Jim Ryan, whose popular tenure as P-CCS Superintendent of Schools is still regarded as a shining example of leadership, team-building, and compassionate service to education.
“Now more than ever, it’s important to recognize the work that P-CCS educators do to offer students the chance to learn, prepare, and thrive,” 88.1 the Park Station Manager Bill Keith said. All of us at the station are excited to use our airwaves to do just that with ‘My P-CCS Life.’”
Episodes of “My P-CCS life will air on the first Friday of every month. Following their air date, episodes will be available on the station’s website and the district’s official YouTube Channel.
