I received your WSDP newsletter today. What a fantastic idea, and a great trip down “memory lane.” I started at WSDP in 1979 and didn’t realize how fortunate I was to have a high school with a radio station. It was great to see your first WSDP newsletter appear in my mailbox. Like many former staffers, I enjoyed my time at the station. Your newsletter brought back some memories, especially as I read some of the stories. I think you’re onto a good thing—please keep it up! I worked for only one year at the station – my senior year. Also, I wasn’t a DJ. Instead I chose to cover sports and news. My “beat” was wrestling in the fall/winter, and girls soccer in the spring. I was fortunate enough to do some halftime shows during Salem basketball games, even as the team advanced through the playoffs. Continue reading
