Community Focus – June 24, 2015
The interview was hosted by Salem Social Studies Teacher Darrin Silvester and a couple of his Michigan History students. It was recorded in 2008 at the time of Ms. Dunning’s 98th birthday. She passed away in May while on a trip to California.
She talked about growing up in Plymouth, attending Plymouth High School, her love of the Penniman-Allen Theater, favorite teachers and good friends.
Ms. Dunning was known for her love of cars and the Plymouth community. She was a philanthropist known for her generosity, especially for gifts that provided a building for the Plymouth District Library and the Plymouth Historical Museum.
Conversations with Mike – June/July 2015
Dr. Michael Meissen, Superintendent of the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, hosts a special show focused on the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Early Childhood Education programs and the new Allen Early Learning Academy. His special guests are Corrin Stamatakos, a member of the district’s Blue Ribbon Advisory Committee and a strong advocate of pre-school education, and Nick Brandon, Director of Communications for the district.
They talked about the Board of Education’s decision to repurpose Allen and the exciting early childhood programs the district is offering.
The show will air Tuesday June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21 and July 28 at 5:40 p.m.
