The Yankee Air Museum and the Willow Run Bomber Plant are hoping to take back the record for the most Rosie The Riveters in a picture. They held the record until last year when the Rockin’ Rosies of Richmond took the record with 1,084 Rosies. They will work to regain the record on Saturday October 24. The Willow Run Bomber Plant is the birthplace of Rosie The Riveter and the iconic image that celebrated the impact of women in winning World War II. On this edition of Community Focus, John Kreger speaks with Kevin Walsh, Executive Director of the Yankee Air Museum about the effort to regain the record, the history of the Willow Run Bomber Plant, and the Yankee Air Museum’s work to build the National Museum of Aviation and Technology at Willow Run.

Bill Keith interviews Salem Teachers Darrin Silvester, Brenda Belanger, Lauren Cummings and Jim Wheaton about the impact of former Salem High School Principal Jerry Ostoin. Jerry passed away on Saturday Oct. 3. He was Principal of Salem High School from 1986 to 2008. Prior to that he served as an Assistant Principal beginning in 1974. The interview includes a clip from Jerry’s speech at the 1993 Salem Commencements.
