Bill Keith speaks with Canton Police School Resource Officer Andy Curry about the increase in car accidents and driving violations on and near the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Campus. The driving infractions are especially prevalent at student arrival and dismissal times. They are working together to educate students about the need for greater focus while driving.

Moments with Merritt – September 2016
A new school year can bring excitement, as well as a little anxiety. These are feelings experienced by both kids and parents. Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Superintendent, Monica Merritt, brought together staff members and a student to share their thoughts on how to make this school year a success. Her guests are Denise Lilly, Principal at Field Elementary. Denise has been Principal at Field for six years and prior to that she was the Assistant Principal at Central Middle School. She has also served as an administrator and teacher in other districts. Jeremy Majszak is entering his tenth year of teaching in the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools. He is a 7th grade science teacher at West Middle School and graduated from Canton High School. Saba Mangla is a Junior at Plymouth High School. She is the News Director at 88.1 the Park and is part of the award winning P-CEP Culinary Program.
The show will air live on 88.1 the Park on Tuesday September 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 5:40 p.m.

88.1 the Park Auditions – Applications are Available Now
Students at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park can join the staff of one of the best high school radio stations. 88.1 The Park is accepting applications for new staff members and they are due on Friday September 23, 2016.
Students will have an opportunity to work in all areas of the station’s operation including as a DJ, Sports Announcer, Promotions Assistant, News Anchor and Production Assistant. They will gain experience that will prepare them for careers in media and will develop business skills that will stick with them for a lifetime.
Applications are available at the Canton, Plymouth and Salem High School General Offices, and at the station’s office at Salem. They are also available at our website.
A list of students that receive auditions will be posted at the station on Tuesday September 27. Auditions will take place on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at the station’s office at Salem.
Students auditioning will be given a packet to prepare a newscast. They will read the newscast at the audition and will be involved in a short job interview.
The station will host an informational meeting for interested students and their parents on Tuesday September 15. They will be able to learn more about the station, the audition process, and staff expectations.
88.1 the Park live at Music in the Air Friday
88.1 the Park has enjoyed partnering with the Plymouth Downtown Development Authority to bring you live broadcasts of Music in the Air. The concerts have been a blast and we’ve enjoyed the chance to connect with our listeners.
The next concert is Friday August 19, as Randy Brock brings an evening of classic rock and blues to the Kellogg Park stage.
We will also be back on Friday Sept. 2, as we close out the summer with a live broadcast of Steve King and the Dittlies.
The concert starts at 7:00 p.m. and is brought to you through the support of the Wilcox Foundation, IBM and the Downtown Development Authority.
88.1 the Park Live at the Sunshine Skills and Drills Clinic
88.1 the Park will be live at the Sunshine Skills and Drills Football Clinic on Friday July 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Varsity Football Field.
The clinic was created to provide kids with special needs with a chance to play football. The participants will receive coaching from Plymouth Wildcats Coaches and Players.
Stop by the 88.1 the Park tent and pick up pens and stickers.
