A Long Overdue Salute to Mathieu Mondro

Mathieu MondroMathieu Mondro was 88.1 The Park’s Staff Member of the Month in October, but due to an oversight we forgot to recognize him on our website.

Mathieu is a dedicated member of our sports department.  He could be heard throughout the football season helping with our broadcasts.  Mathieu is also one of our go to DJ trainers.  Most importantly he is always willing to help out behind the scenes.  He is also a talented member of the Canton High School Bowling Team.

“We are lucky to have Mathieu on our staff,” said Bill Keith, Station Manager.  “He always gives his best at the station and works hard to make 88.1 a great place for our listeners and his fellow staff members.”

Maisy Seale and Kaley Ross are the 88.1 The Park Staff Members of the Month for December 2015.

Maisy is a Freshman at Plymouth High School and is one of 88.1’s newest staff members.  Maisy was commended for her work creating graphics for the station’s social media platforms, as well as her work in our news department.  Maisy is also hosting a radio show on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

“We are fortunate to have such a talented graphic artist on our staff,” said Bill Keith, Station Manager.  “Maisy has a great understanding of social media and we’re lucky to have her on our staff for the next three plus years.”

Kaley is 88.1’s Music Director.  She is a Senior at Plymouth and has been part of the station since her Freshman year.  She also is the co-host of 88.1’s Alternative Rock Show, All the Small Things, on Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

“Kaley is responsible for our music sound and she has a great ear for the music we should be playing,” said Keith.  “She works behind the scenes selecting songs and scheduling music but she especially shines on-the-air.  Kaley is one of our most talented on-air hosts and she creates radio shows that need to be heard.”

Pledge Drive 2015 Max Kuang and Chris Butzlaff
The 88.1 The Park Staff would like to thank listeners, friends and alums of the station for their support during the 88.1 Thanks for Giving Pledge Drive.  The pledge drive is one of the station’s main fundraisers each year.

This year the station raised nearly $8,000 of their $8,810 goal.  The money will help the station impact the lives of students and serve the Plymouth Canton Community.

“We are truly blessed by the support of this community,” said Bill Keith, Station Manager.  “We couldn’t have done this without the support of our amazing listeners and the hard work of our student staff members.”

Community Focus – November 18, 2015

Bill Keith interviews author Warren Zanes about his new biography of Tom Petty.  The book is simply called Petty.  Zanes played in a band called the Del Fuegos in the 80’s and his band eventually opened for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.  He left the Del Fuegos shortly after the Petty tour but continued to be a fan of Tom’s music.
