Students in the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools began returning to greater in person learning this month.  P-CCS Superintendent of Schools, Monica Merritt, brought together the Directors at the Elementary Middle and High School levels to speak about the return.  Her guests were, Director of Elementary Schools, Maureen Molloy, Director of Middle Schools, Anthony Ruela, and Director of High Schools, Hal Heard.

The show will air on March 9, 16, and 23, at 5:40 p.m.

Moments with Merritt – February 2020

The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is asking voters to consider a Bond Proposal to improve facilities, enhance safety and security, provide technology upgrades and purchase school buses.  The district is asking residents to maintain the current school debt levy of 4.02 mills which will raise $275,000,000 for improvements.  Superintendent Monica Merritt spoke with Beth Rayl, the district’s Chief Academic Officer, Kurt Tyszkiewicz, Executive Director of Student Services, and Nick Brandon, Executive Director of Communications and Marketing.

The interview will air live on 88.1 the Park on Tuesday February 11, 18, 25, and March 3 following Newsfile at 5:30.

Moments with Merritt – February 2019

The Park Players Theater Company has been one of the mainstay arts organizations in the Plymouth and Canton for over 48 years.  The company was launched by former English teacher, Gloria Logan.  Superintendent, Monica Merritt, spoke with two of the current students that lead the Park Players.  Madison Wiley and Dalton Barthold are seniors at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park.

Moments with Merritt – November 20, 2018

The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools has a gifted group of Principals and Assistant Principals at all levels of the district.  Isbister Elementary Principal, Emily Hawthorne, is one of the newest Principals in the district.  She is also a graduate of the district.  Superintendent, Monica Merritt, spoke with Hawthorne about what drew her back to the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools.

Moments with Merritt – August 21, 2018

The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, in partnership with the Educational Excellence Foundation and Canton Leisure Services, will present the Back to School Bash on Saturday August 25, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.  The Back to School Bash will provide information, entertainment, and demonstrations from various district groups and programs. At 2 p.m. join the EEF Quest for Excellence, a family fun event that will raise funds for the EEF. Teams of 2-4 (adults and children) will conquer 6 challenges around the Park with the ability to win fun prizes.  Superintendent Monica Merritt spoke with two of the organizers, Nick Brandon, Director of Communications for the school district, and Gretchen Ward, Executive Director of the Educational Excellence Foundation.

This edition of Moments with Merritt will air on Tuesday August 21, at 5:45 p.m.
