Community Focus – November 19, 2025
Former Plymouth-Canton Educational Park students, Ian Flanagan and Jesse Lindlbauer, have co-authored the children’s book, Kevin Can. The book was written out of their experiences of having young kids ask them about life with their wheelchairs. Flanagan wrote the story and Lindlbauer created the artwork. The authors are speaking to classrooms across the state. 88.1 the Park’s, Leia Riley, recently spoke with Flanagan in studio and Lindlbauer via the phone.

Community Focus – November 12, 2025
The Plymouth Canton Educational Foundation will host their Uncorked 2025 on Friday November 14, at Fox Hills Golf and Banquet Center in Plymouth. Uncorked is a strolling dinner and wine tasting that brings together the Plymouth-Canton community for an evening featuring fine wines, a strolling dinner, and opportunities to connect with friends and fellow advocates for education — all in support of PCEF’s mission to enrich the educational experience of every P-CCS student. 88.1 the Park’s Claudia Fisher spoke with Hanoe Gibbons, the Vice Chair for Plymouth Canton Educational Foundation. They talked about the evening and the impact on students and teachers.

Community Focus – November 11, 2025
For a special 88.1 the Park Thanks for Giving Pledge Drive edition of Community Focus, 88.1 the Park’s Claudia Fisher spoke with 88.1 Alum, Jay Kruz. Jay is an on-air host at Mix 94.9 in Cincinnati and WARM 106.9 in Seattle. They talk about Jay’s experience at 88.1, his career in radio and his continued support for the station.

Community Focus – November 5, 2025
Plymouth-Canton Educational Park students, Dron and Druheen Das, recently collaborated with their mother, Mohana, on the book “Raising Chess Knight – Lessons From the Board to Everyday Life.” The brothers were part of state championship teams at East Middle School and they lead the team at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park. 88.1 the Park Station Manager, Bill Keith, recently talked with Dron, Druheen and Mohana about the book, lessons they’ve learned and their current chess pursuits.
Community Focus – October 29, 2025
Canton based non-profit, Creating Habitats for Pollinators, plants native wildflowers in North America to increase pollinator habitat and engage public and private communities about the importance of native landscaping. The non-profit grew out of informal plantings that Founder and Executive Director, David Hammonds, did in 2018. 88.1 the Park’s Alyssa Ajai, spoke with Hammond about his passion for wild flowers and the growth of Creating Habitats for Pollinators.
