The Arab American National Museum is hosting a special exhibit celebrating actor Danny Thomas and his founding of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Mr. Thomas was of Lebanese Syrian heritage and he grew up in the Detroit area. The birth of the hospital came out of a prayer he offered in a Detroit area church. Midha Mashhood interviews Kim Silarski, Communications Manager for the Arab American National Museum. They talked about the exhibit, other offerings of the museum and the important role the museum plays in our community.

Bill Keith interviews author Warren Zanes about his new biography of Tom Petty. The book is simply called Petty. Zanes played in a band called the Del Fuegos in the 80’s and his band eventually opened for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. He left the Del Fuegos shortly after the Petty tour but continued to be a fan of Tom’s music.

Bill Keith interviews Greg Schupra and Beth Meade from the Canton Community Foundation about philanthropy and opportunities for giving. Greg is an advisor for the foundation and the author of the book “An Unexpected Legacy – Strategies of Generosity.” Beth Meade is the Managing Director of Donor Relations for the foundation.

Saba Mangla interviews Jordan Taylor, the Director of the Canton Historical Museum. They talked about the work of the museum and her role as director. Taylor is 22 and was recently appointed as the museum’s director, after serving as a volunteer since 2012.
