One of the things that makes the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools stand out is the incredible number of opportunities in athletics and activities for our students at the high school level.
These programs provide our students with hands on learning opportunities that develop responsible, hard-working, and dedicated students. They help students learn the value of teamwork and commitment to a cause that is bigger than themselves.
For this edition of Moments with Merrit, Superintendent Monica Merrit, talks with the Assistant Principals of Athletics and Activities at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park, Vernon Crump, Brian Samulski and Luke Swanson.

Moments with Merritt – February 2017
The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is hosting a Realtors Breakfast to build connections with important ambassadors for the school district. The breakfast is Thursday February 23, at 8:30 a.m. at the Canton Public Library. The district will provide resources to help realtors sell homes along with a networking opportunity. Coldwell Banker Realtor, Gordon McCann, will also share tips and tricks to aid the home selling process.
Superintendent Monica Merritt talks with Taryn Reid, Assistant Director of Marketing for the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools and Gordon McCann, a local realtor.

Moments with Merritt – November 2016
The Regional Education Enhancement Millage proposes a levy of 2 mills of tax for six years, with the proceeds going to the 33 school districts in Wayne County, based on each district’s student enrollment. Wayne County voters will decide whether to approve this millage during the November 8, election.
Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Superintendent, Monica Merritt, spoke with Dr. Jeremy Hughes, Chief Academic Officer for the district, Nick Brandon, Director of Communications, and Corrin Stamatakos, a parent volunteer, about the millage and how the proceeds would be used to support the district.

Moments with Merritt – September 2016
A new school year can bring excitement, as well as a little anxiety. These are feelings experienced by both kids and parents. Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Superintendent, Monica Merritt, brought together staff members and a student to share their thoughts on how to make this school year a success. Her guests are Denise Lilly, Principal at Field Elementary. Denise has been Principal at Field for six years and prior to that she was the Assistant Principal at Central Middle School. She has also served as an administrator and teacher in other districts. Jeremy Majszak is entering his tenth year of teaching in the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools. He is a 7th grade science teacher at West Middle School and graduated from Canton High School. Saba Mangla is a Junior at Plymouth High School. She is the News Director at 88.1 the Park and is part of the award winning P-CEP Culinary Program.

Superintendent Monica Merritt takes time to spotlight the important work of the districts Blue Ribbon Panel. The Blue Ribbon Panel was created to develop ways to improve the district, especially in the area of enrollment. The panel includes community members, district staff and parents. Monica’s guests include Blue Ribbon Panel Chair Person, Don Soenen and the Plymouth-Canton Community School’s Director of Communications and Marketing, Nick Brandon.
