The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools have welcomed two new Safety and Security Officers, Echo and his handler Scott Hughesdon. Echo is a golden lab that will be used for detection and dual purpose of providing comfort for students. Echo is currently completing his training in detection and obedience and he’s beginning to visit schools. Echo was named after Ed Jagst, a Canton police officer who was killed in 2021. Jagst’s radio call sign was Echo 52. 88.1 the Park’s Public Affairs Director, Avneet Pandher, talked with Echo’s partner, Scott Hughesdon.

Community Focus – March 15, 2023

The New Hope Center for Grief Support in Northville will hold their annual Gala on Friday May 5, 2023, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cultural Center in Livonia. The evening will include dinner, dancing, a band, raffles, auctions, and much more. Money raised will help provide free peer-led grief support to the children, teens, and adults that are grieving the death of a loved one. 88.1 the Park’s Bailey Wixon spoke with New Hope Center for Grief Support’s Assistant Director, Susan Arnould.

Community Focus – March 8, 2023

The Park Players Theatre Company is an award winning group at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park. The mission of The Park Players Theatre Company is to provide students with a solid educational experience in all aspects of the theatrical process while providing the community with high quality entertainment. Their next production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare opens on March 10. 88.1 the Park’s, Jayden Jones, spoke with Elliot Hanlon, Stage Manager for the Park Players Production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare.

Community Focus – March 6, 2023

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools will host the district’s annual Realtor Breakfast on Thursday March 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Plymouth Arts & Recreation Complex. The strolling breakfast provides local realtors with an opportunity to learn more about P-CCS and network with other realtors. 88.1 the Park’s Assistant Station Manager, John Kreger, spoke with P-CCS Executive Director of Communications and Marketing, Nick Brandon, about the breakfast.
