Community Focus – October 12, 2016

88.1 the Park is interviewing candidates for the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Board of Education during Community Focus.  The interviews will air each Wednesday until the election.

Rebekah McBride spoke with Patti McCoin.  She is one of nine candidates for a six-year seat on the board of education.  Rebekah was also scheduled to speak with Bharat Malhotra but he did not respond to our emails or calls.

Saba Mangla spoke with School Board Member Patrick Kehoe.  He is running unopposed for a four-year seat on the board.  She also spoke with Douglas Brooks, one of nine candidates for a six-year seat on the board of education.

Community Focus – September 28, 2016

Z Spot Fitness Services, at the Plymouth Arts and Recreation Complex, will present Buddy Up Plymouth beginning September 30.  The 8 week fitness and health program will be hosted by Buddy Shuh, a past participant on the TV Show The Biggest Loser.  88.1 the Park’s Midha Mashhood talked with Buddy about the program, his participation on the Biggest Loser and his history of weight loss.

Community Focus – September 21, 2016

The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Alumni Association will host a meet and greet at Canton’s Homecoming Football game on Friday Sept. 23, as the Chiefs take on the Plymouth Wildcats.  Alums from all eras of the district are encouraged to stop by a welcome tent outside the stadium.  The Salem Rocks will also be playing that night at 6:30 p.m. at the grass field near Plymouth High School.  Saba Mangla spoke with Robin Maslyk, Vice President of the Alumni Association about their organization and the plans for that evening.

Community Focus – September 14, 2016

Bill Keith speaks with Canton Police School Resource Officer Andy Curry about the increase in car accidents and driving violations on and near the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Campus.  The driving infractions are especially prevalent at student arrival and dismissal times.  They are working together to educate students about the need for greater focus while driving.
