This week’s Community Focus is an archived interview that originally aired on 88.1 in 1997.  The guest is former Plymouth-Salem Principal Bill Brown.  Bill passed away on September 10, 2015 at age 84.  This interview was recorded just after Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Superintendent Dr. John Hoben passed away.  In the interview Mr. Brown shares about his time as principal, the development of Plymouth-Canton Educational Park and the impact of Dr. Hoben.  He also touches on the importance of 88.1 and student radio at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park.

Bill Keith interviews Jim Fausone.  Jim is working with the Canton Community Foundation to present their 6th Annual Veteran’s Summit on Saturday October 3, at the Schoolcraft College VistaTech Center.  The Summit will have resources for veterans in a variety of areas.  More information is at the Canton Community Foundation website, www.cantonfoundation.org.

Conversations with Mike Mark and Dan

This edition of Conversations with Mike spotlights teachers in the Plymouth-Canton Community Schoools.  Superintendent Dr. Michael Meissen speaks with Mark Trzeiciak, teacher at West Middle School and Dan Young, teacher at Pioneer Middle School.  Mark is a teacher at West Middle School in the STEM program. He recently went to Malta to share his work utilizing a 3D printer in the classroom.  Dan is a Physical Education Teacher.  He also coaches in the district and was recently named the Director of the Community Education Basketball League that is offered through the district.

Great teachers inspire, mentor, motivate, and encourage a love for learning.  Dan and Mark represent the great teachers all throughout the district.
