Community Focus – December 7, 2022

Plymouth High School International Baccalaureate teacher Casey Swanson was named the 2022 winner of the Mary Margaret Moffett Memorial Teaching Excellence Award. The award, which is administered by the Society for the Teaching of Psychology, recognizes one high school teacher nationwide each year. Award winners are chosen based on a variety of criteria, including the ability to generate student interest in psychology, design effective and compelling instructional materials, engage in professional development that promotes growth as a teacher, and the proper use of national standards for the teaching of psychology to students. 88.1 the Park’s Bailey Wixon, spoke with Mr. Swanson about the honor and his career as a teacher.
