The Michigan Philharmonic’s Ode to Joy – Live on 88.1 the Park

88.1 the Park is pleased to broadcast the Michigan Philharmonic’s next concert “Ode to Joy” on Saturday April 9, at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will feature a performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, as well as Michael Gilbretson’s “The Beautiful and the Good.”  “The Beautiful and the Good” is a musical homage to the 9th Symphony.  Guest composer, Michael Gilbretson, will be in attendance and the performance will feature The Plymouth Oratorio Society. Plymouth-Canton Educational Park’s High School Choirs and the Schoolcraft Collegiate Chorale.  They will also welcome guest vocalists Sara Emerson McGarvey, Soprano; Kathryn Calzone, Mezzo; Scott Piper, Tenor; Jonathan Lasch, Bass.

This powerful symphony has often been performed in times of uncertainty bringing together words and music of unity and peace.
